We knew the book was going to be something special, because we'd seen beforehand what Hoffman can do with this kind of material–back in 2007, he published a now-classic story in the magazine about Tim Roman<\/a>, an overweight and overworked African bush pilot who will fly anybody and anything for money. To give you a sense of what's in store in The Lunatic Express<\/a>, we're happily showcasing the old Roman story, along with an excerpt from the new book<\/a>, a look at the incredibly dangerous commuter trains<\/a> of Mumbai, India.
