In 2007, all cliff-jumping, diving, and climbing activities were banned at Summersville Lake, about 90 minutes east of Charleston, West Virginia. The ban came after several non-climbing related deaths. But then, in 2015, local climbing advocacy group began working of the U.S Army Corps of Engineers on a one day permit to host an outdoor psicolbloc (another word for deep water soloing) competition on the lake. ڰdzھ , documents the persistence it took to make the PsicoRoc event happen in 2016.
