Foothills: The Unlinked Heritage of Snowboarding, from pro snowboarder and Patagonia Ambassador and production company , is a new film about the origins of snowboarding unlike any you've seen before. Petranboarding began as a cultural phenomenon in the village of Petran in the 18th century, deep in the mountains of eastern Turkey, and is one of the earliest iterations of snowboarding that we know about. The tradition is still alive today, and this film brings us right into the action.
