So I've shown you guys my GoFast camper before and given you a tour of the actual camper itself. Today, I want to talk to you about a few accessories that I'm going to add to it. So as I've mentioned throughout this series, the whole point of a good adventure rig is to be really, really comfortable when you're camping so you can get out and do a bunch of stuff you love. Well, one of the ways you can do that is by adding accessories to your rig.
I'm going to add an awning and a thing called a Road Shower, which basically holds a bunch of water so I can shower, do dishes, or rinse off bikes or anything like that. It all bolts on to the GoFast camper here. The GoFast actually holds 500 pounds on its own. And when the camper doors open, it actually supports up to 100 pounds, which means you can leave bikes, skis, and things like that up there when you're camped. So let's get started.
So GoFast sells all sorts of accessories. These are their awning mount brackets. And what you can do is actually they have these T slots here that run the length of the camper, and so they call these their custom accessory slots. They sell these little nuts that go right in here super easily, and then you can just mount whatever you want straight onto the camper. It's really easy.

OK, so I got the awning installed. This is the Rhino-Rack Batwing Compact 270 degree awning. That's a mouthful. But basically, it's one of the best awnings I've tried. And it works great for a variety of vehicles, so you don't need a huge truck to run this thing. The great thing about it is that obviously you get shade out here. Then if you come around the back, you get a full 270 degrees of shade or rain protection. So the 270 degree thing is great because you just get more shaded area. You can get out of the elements and still be out camping and enjoying yourself, get out of the sun.
So the other great thing about this awning is how easy it is to set up. One thing when you're picking out an awning, you should really think about how easy it is to set up and to put away. Some of them are huge pains to do that, and it makes it so you'll never use the awning. The Rhino-Rack is really simple. Takes like two minutes to set this thing up.
And it all sort of folds back in accordion style, wraps up really easily, and you don't have to deal with folding the awning material or anything like that. So it's just really, really nice to have. The other nice thing is the GoFast side panels still open with this, so I can still get stuff out of the truck if I'm camped or what have you. And then this thing just lives on the truck now. That way, I don't have to always mess with taking it on and off the roof rack.
Most awnings have this, but all the legs are adjustable here, so you can change the height of your awning. And then the Batwing is cool because there's actually these zippers here and they sell wall attachments for this thing. So you can actually enclose the entire awning, and you've got like a big tent on the side of your car, which is pretty neat. Then last thing that's cool about this awning is it's got a little attachment points here for guidelines so you can stake it down and secure it if it's really windy outside, and then you're not going to have to worry about it ripping or blowing away on you.
OK, so now let's go check out the road shower that I mentioned. So this thing is super cool. Basically, it's a little solar shower. So since it's black when it's out in the sun all day, the water heats up inside. You have a nice warm shower at camp. I think it's pretty much the perfect size. It holds seven gallons of water, which is great for a weekend of camping. And you can make these with just PVC pipe if you want. But the great thing about the Road Shower is that you can actually pressurize it.
So you use a bike pump, and you can put up to 60 PSI in this thing, which is great for a couple of showers. And then all you do, you detach the hose here, there's a little valve on the front, and then you got pressurized water. And then if you feel like a shower when you're out camping, all you do is pop that right there, there's another nozzle, and then you get a hot shower at camp, which is really nice if you're out for an extended period of time. You can rinse off and stay out longer, which is the whole point.
So there you have it. Today, I added an awning and a Road Shower to my camper. That's the great thing about a GoFast camper in my opinion is that it's a little bare bones when you first buy it, but that's great because as you use it and decide what you need or what you want out of a camper, you can add stuff to it. This is something that anybody can do if you've got a proper roof rack on your vehicle. The Rhino-Rack Batwing Compact is the awning that I would recommend. It's small to fit on anything.
And then the Road Shower IV holds seven gallons of water. Both are really, really great accessories and can turn your rig into more of an adventure vehicle that you can live out of or go on extended car camping trips, whatever you want to do.
