New perk: Easily find new routes and hidden gems, upcoming running events, and more near you. Your weekly Local Running Newsletter has everything you need to lace up! .

There’s no reason quality workout gear should be limited to the confines of your home or gym. This kit is ready for jump squats, morning rides, and evening jogs in the brisk winter air.

Bravo Sierra Antibacterial Body Wipes ($10 for 10)

Keep these body wipes stashed in your gym bag, and you’ll never need to use a crusty locker-room shower again. They’re antibacterial and have aloe for a refreshing, hydrating feel. We keep them stored in our commuter duffels and car camping bins, too.

Ten Thousand Versatile Shirt ($54)

Like any tech shirt worth its place in your workout rotation, the Versatile wicks sweat, dries fast, and resists odors. But the fit stands out: snug in the shoulders and chest without riding up in the armpits. (XS–XXL)

Nuun Energy Drink Tablets ($8 for 10)

With 80 milligrams of caffeine and 100 milligrams of sodium per tab, Nuun’s newest drink enhancer offers an electrolyte-rich boost for midmorning cardio workouts, without the acidity and gut-bomb effects of coffee. Choose from four flavors: berry, watermelon, tropical punch, and ginger lime (our testers’ favorite).

Brooks Carbonite Jacket ($180)

Brooks upgraded its high-vis shell with a stretchier nylon-spandex fabric but retained the water resistance that made the original such a hit for drizzly tempos. Designers also added a stowable hood and larger reflective panels along the forearms. (XS–XXL)

Craft Adv Charge Training Pants ($90)

Our testers who run hot appreciated these woven polyester-elastane pants, which buffer wind but still breathe thanks to perforated calves. They’re roomy enough for unobstructed movement during warm up jogs, box jumps, and yoga sessions, without being baggy. (XS–XXL)

Saxx Viewfinder Half-Zip Long-Sleeve ($80)

Men’s underwear company Saxx champions comfort, and that’s apparent with this polyester-merino-elastane pullover, too. This top kept us plenty warm without overheating during chilly outdoor workouts. A roomy torso keeps the air flowing over a base layer, but chafe-free flat seams are comfortable against bare skin. (S–XXL)

Dudes Yoga Luxuriant Cork Yoga Mat ($88)

Extra-long, 72-inch yoga mats aren’t new, but we were impressed how well this extra-long, 72-inch mat gripped during sweaty HIIT sessions compared with rubber models. The antimicrobial cork top is surprisingly soft, but provided stability for our hardest lunges and presses. And after months of rolling around on it with sweaty backs and feet, it still smells totally fine.

Polar Vantage M2 Multisport GPS Watch ($300)

Though we’ve tested pricier, more feature-rich watches, we liked the budget-friendly simplicity of the new M2. It provides all the data you want (heart rate, activity tracking, interval timers) without any extraneous, confusing metrics that you don’t need. There’s no barometer, compass, or touch-screen display—features on Polar’s pricier Vantage V2 model—but in return you get a capable workout tracker for a couple hundreds of dollars cheaper than similar devices.

Altra Solstice XT 2 Shoes ($120)

The second version of the XT retains Altra’s signature zero-drop midsole and wide footbed, but it now has stiffer reinforcements around the laces, which kept us firmly planted on every squat. Testers logged dozens of outdoor kettlebell workouts and short runs around the neighborhood without sore feet, thanks to a responsive layer of light midsole cushioning.
