Shaky action-cam footage is useless. That’s why we’re intrigued by the new attachment, which stabilizes the camera and reduces jostling.
The SteadXP plugs into the back of a GoPro (Hero2 and higher) and your camera makes while filming (there's also a different version for DSLRs). When it comes time to download your footage, plug the SteadXP into your computer and the device communicates with the desktop software, relaying all that movement info and telling the software where to smooth things out.
The idea struck a chord, raising nearly $600,000 on Kickstarter—more than triple the original ask. The devices ship in March.
