The Skid ($97) is made from 97 percent Robinia wood, which requires 32 times less energy to produce than a full steel model. Tannin, a natural antimicrobial found in Robinia wood, keeps the knife bug-free, which means you never have to wash the knife with soap or put it in the dishwasher. The hand-sharpened carbon steel blade was forged in Germany.
