The bad news: there’s no such thing as a one-quiver bike. The good? This one comes pretty damn close—if you're into ski-mo that is.

After seeing a decent mountaineering approach bike last year, adventure filmmaker Thomas Woodson set out to create an even better one. “Everyone seems to strap their skis to the frame, but I wanted something that wouldn’t destroy the paint,” he says. “Plus, vertical skis catch wind, tree branches, and overall wreck your balance.”

To bring his idea to life, he turned to Boulder-based bike builder Collin Schaafsma of Matter Cycles. Schaafsma fit Matter’s fat-bike frame, dubbed the , with custom racks, resulting in what Thomas calls “the sickest approach bike out there.”

Skis mount directly to the frame, thanks to thecustom holder, and there’s a main rack big enough to hold a weekend’s worth of gear, as well as a secondary one for serious backcountry adventures. Plus the bike is customized to your specifications down to the fork. The best part? Ditch all the accessories and the bike turns into a 29+ summer shredder when it’s time to trade snow for dirt.
