SmartWool’s Banff Crew Sweater ($150; ) looks like your dad’s from the seventies—in a cool way. Patagonia’s track-inspired Kernelius Jacket ($150; ) is actually a technical fleece midlayer. With a powder skirt, a fleecy lining, and a DWR coating, Patagonia’s Pipe Down Jacket ($300) is perfect for cold-weather skiing. As are Oakley’s insulated Arrestino Pants ($250; ). Gordini’s windproof Warrior Gloves ($90; ) were some of the best of the year.

I/O Bio’s merino-wool Contact Long Sleeve Zip Base Layer ($70; ) is remarkably soft. Quiksilver’s Husqie Button-Down looks like a flannel shirt, but it’s cut from water-repellent polyester ($80; ). And because the nylon, mesh-lined Eastwood Shirt ($95), also by Quiksilver, has a DWR coating, you can wear it by itself on warm days—or around town when it’s raining.
