The North Face Women’s Purist Futurelight Jacket ($649)

The North Face’s Women’s Purist Futurelight jacket was built for the boldest ski objectives, with articulated arms, a radio clip on the collar, and well-placed vents, so heat and moisture can escape easily when you’re wearing a pack. It also features the company’s new Futurelight fabric, which delivered great waterproofing and breathability during our winter 2018 test.
Dynafit TLT 8 Carbonio ($850)

Dynafit has been zeroing in on the perfect all-around backcountry ski boot for years, and the TLT 8 Carbonio is its best yet. It’s both hardcore and easy to use, thanks to a lightning-fast two-ratchet buckle system and added height on the cuff for driving bigger skis.
Sweet Protection Interstellar Goggles ($220)

The lenses and carbon-reinforced frames on Sweet Protection’s Interstellar goggles are some of the most rigid we’ve used. This structure offers better protection during a crash.
Kastle FX96 HP ($1,099)

You’d be hard-pressed to find a more playful ski for all-mountain fun than the Kastle FX96 HP. It’s got an increased rocker profile from its ridiculously fun predecessor, weighs less, and hits the underfoot-width sweet spot at 96 millimeters.
Danner Trail 2650 Light Hiker ($150)

Danner is known for making beautiful and hardy boots, so we were skeptical when we heard about its Trail 2650 light hiker. Then we tried it and noticed some brilliant design choices, like bringing the all-important heel lock to the exterior of the shoe, which minimizes bulk without sacrificing trademark sturdiness.
Ruffwear Climate Changer Pullover ($50)

Your best friend deserves the best gear. Made with quick-drying, warm yet breathable recycled-polyester fleece, Ruffwear’s Climate Changer pullover will keep your dog charging on brisk morning outings.
MountainFlow Eco-Wax ($20)

Ski waxes reduce friction on runs, but they’re loaded with toxic PFCs that end up in streams and rivers. MountainFlow Eco-Wax is the first plant-based option that’s truly biodegradable—and it still offers plenty of glide.
