Designed with input from ultrarunner Anton Krupicka, who’s so allergic to carrying extra ounces he races nearly nude, this super-minimalist trail shoe, with its wafer-thin midsole and highly flexible forefoot, is among the lightest we’ve ever seen. Ideal for faster runners with perfect mechanics who pick their way through technical terrain with ease, the 101 offers underfoot protection and barely anything else. Those needing a supportive shoe, either for overpronating or for rough terrain, felt a little exposed. Think of it as a lightweight or barefoot training shoe—and proceed carefully. 7.7 oz (size 9.5).
