After Leatherman nailed its first sport specific pocket tool, the Mako Ti for cycling, we’re excited to test their new 1.6oz snowboard tool—the Hail. We felt like the 3.8-inch tool strikes a nice feature balance between technical—scraper, screwdriver, wrench—and lifestyle, with a bottle opener and headphone stash. We also like how easily you can turn this five-feature tool into a 13-feature one by marrying it with the Leatherman’s Style PS (sold together for $45; pictured). Bonus: the Hail and the Style PS are TSA compliant. We shoved a sample in our carry-on luggage from Albuquerque to Salt Lake City and TSA gave it back to us after three trips through their scanner.
