From lanterns to headlamps, there are a lot of ways to light a campsite. And Big Agnes just thought of another one.

In early 2015, the company will release a —from four-person car camping monsters to 2.6-pound lightweight backpacking models—featuring integrated LED lighting sewn into the seams along the top of the tents.

The battery-powered (double A) lights are easy to turn on and off, and the headlamp-size battery pack can be removed and left at home if you so desire, but you might as well take it with you: the entire lighting system, including batteries, only adds four ounces to the weight of the tents.

While there’s a certain charm to jury rigging a headlamp to the roof of a tent, we’re excited to test the effect of the soft, diffused light inside the mtnGLO tents this winter.

$200-600,
