PUFF LIGHT

Of all the jackets we tested, none saw as much field time as the Xenon. The slightly puffy top is stuffed with enough PrimaLoft insulation to be worn alone down to about 30 degrees. And while its face fabric appears thin and fragile, it’s anything but. One tester took it on a trek to Everest and a six-day adventure race in Patagonia, but through miles of off-trail travel, including bushwhacking through thorny brush, the fabric never tore. The trim, minimalist design (no zippers on the hand pockets or adjustments on the hood) also makes it an ultrawarm and packable midlayer. It weighs just 11 ounces and stuffs into its own chest pocket. 11 oz;
