The temperature has dropped, the leaves are changing, and snow is falling on our high peaks. All of which is to say it’s officially sweater weather. So we found five tops, each with a different look and purpose, all for under $100.

Prana Corbin Sweater ($80)

This simple, no-frills is made from 100 percent organic cotton and has a modern two-tone aesthetic. You’re probably not gonna take this all-cotton layer on the mountain, but it will slay around town.

Royal Robbins Fishermans Shawl Sweater ($95)

No need for a scarf thanks to the high-rise shawl collar on this top. This ultra-warm is made mostly from wool with a bit of nylon thrown in for extra stretch.

Smartwool Kiva Ridge V Neck ($90)

Smartwool makes a few versions of their Kiva Ridge sweater (check out its crew neck and hoodie), but when you want to dress up your après wear, go with the . This one is a blend of merino wool, nylon, and acrylic for stretch and a relaxed fit.

This  combines two of our favorite looks (the chunky sweater and hoodie) into single, casual layer that seems to look best next to a campfire.

Marmot Stafford Sweater ($50)

is a surprisingly warm layer made from a stretchy wool/poly blend with a soft, fleece interior liner. It combines classic crew neck style with a bit of performance from the quick-dry materials, so it works well under a ski jacket.
