A wooden car sounds like a disaster. But somehow Toyota makes it work.

ٲ, which was made for the Milan Design Week, uses a combination of cedar and birch for the panels, frame, floor, and seats. It's all pieced together with a Japanese joinery technique called okuriari 3, which uses no nails or screws. The wood's unique, and because it weathers well, the car will have an ever-changing look.

Powered by six lead-acid batteries, the two-seater car has a 16-mile range and hits a top speed of 28 miles per hour.
