Time to trade in the Prius. Lamborghini just rolled out its first gasoline-electric concept car—and it’s stunning.
The , named after the minotaur of Greek mythology, packs 910 horsepower with its four engines: a 610 horsepower V10, which you’ll also find in the company’s ; an integrated starter generator; and two electric motors. The hybrid is four-wheel drive, goes from zero to 60 in three seconds flat, and can reach a top speed of 199 mph. Using only its electric engines, the car can go 78 mph.
Before you start thinking about how many children you’ll have to sell to afford the Asterion, consider Lamborghini might never build this wonder car. Granted, the company does have to prepare for the implementation of ,which aim to reduce the amount of CO2 from cars by 40 percent over the next six years. If all the new regulations do is convince Lamborghini to build this beauty, we’ll be happy.
