Dog beds are comfortable, but hardly portable. Blankets roll up small, but don’t provide cushion. So technical blanket maker Rumpl teamed up with Instagram’s most famous adventure dog, , to combine the best aspects of a bed and blanket into something you can easily take with when you travel.
The Rumpl x Loki Dog Bed combines the soft, water-resistant polyester face of the brand’s blankets with a reinforced, abrasion-resistant and waterproof bottom. Inside, there’s Sherpa fleece for insulation, and you can zip open the blanket and reverse it if your dog would rather sleep on that than the smooth outer face.
All of that serves to protect a two-inch thick self-inflating sleeping pad, which is what turns this blanket into a travel bed. The blanket is machine washable and should resist dog hair, drool, and dingleberries with aplomb. Two sizes are available: a $199 36” by 24” small and a $249 48” by 30” large. The blankets are also sold on their own (from $149), and you can use them to house the padding of your choice.
I spent five days camping with Loki in Baja in October and can confirm that the dog loves to lounge. If he thinks this thing is comfortable, your dog will too.
