The three-foot-long BioLite ($200) uses a fan and air jets to create a super-efficient fire that creates very little smoke. The pit's flame intensity is regulated by an app that controls the fan. Turn the fan down for a slow burn, or turn it up for a roaring blaze.
The body is made from a metal mesh and the included grill attachment allows users to cook over wood or coals. When you're done, the pit packs up in soft case that comes with an embedded solar panel you can use to recharge the fan.
