PEDAL-FRIENDLY HEAVYWEIGHT
Six-inch all-mountain bikes can be heavy and no fun to pedal, which is why they’re generally reserved for car shuttles and ski lifts. Not so El Guapo. With oversized aluminum tubing, stout links, and through-axle hub, it looks the part of a squishy all-mountain banger. But a Shimano XT drivetrain keeps the weight down, and with the Fox RP23 shock dialed to its stiffest setting, there’s virtually no pedal bob. On a five-mile climb in the mountains north of Tucson, one tester easily kept pace with a rider on a bike ten pounds lighter, then, predictably, rode out of sight on the descent. 31.2 lbs, L; titusti.com
