Shaun White, the Olympic gold-medal wining snowboarder, claimed the Summer X-Games Saturday with a nearly flawless final run. White landed a 720 and recorded a score of 93 on his winning ride, enough to edge out Pierre-Luc Gagnon, who had won the event each of the previous three years. It wasn’t the first time White has competed in the summer games—he won the skateboard vert in 2007—and between winter and summer events he now owns 20 X-Games gold medals. As the games on Sunday, Travis Pastrana, who broke his tibia and ankle in Thursday’s , made an improbable run to the finals in RallyCross, driving a car rigged so he could control the gas with his hands. (He crashed in the final, reportedly banging his bad ankle.) The games also saw Garrett Reynolds win his fourth consecutive gold, Jackson Strong pull the first ever front flip in , and 16-year-old Nyjah Huston win the competition. Sunday’s final event was the inaugural , a sort of motocross obstacle course race in which riders rode over tires, logs, and rocks. Taddy Blazusiak won.
