Perham Withdraws From Bounty Boat Voyage

Eighteen-year-old Mike Perham, who at age 14 became the youngest person to sail solo around the world, was forced to of the last week. While training in Australia, Perham's appendix had to be removed, and complications from the surgery left him unable to participate in the re-enactment of the castaways from the mutiny on the HMS Bounty. Perham has said that he feels fine mentally, but that his “body is just not fit enough to endure this six week challenge.” To read more about Mike's adventures and those of other teenage sailors, check out ϳԹ from October 2009.
