Kelly Slater, 40, beat , 19, in the finals of the Volcom Pro to win the of his career at Cloudbreak in Fiji. To add some perspective to those numbers, the 11-time world champion has been surfing the famed spot since 1990, three years .

“It’s about time I got him,” Slater said. “He had my number in the back half of last year and he’ll probably go on to beat everyone for the next 20 years. He can do it all and I think he proved that to a lot of people this week at Restaurants and out here at Cloudbreak.”

Slater moved from eighth place up to second place in the ASP standings. He's 1,050 points behind current world number one Mick Fanning, who finished third at the event.

The Volcom Fiji Pro gained a lot of attention last week when the —due to a large swell.
