The Epicocity Project crew is in Laos researching how the proposed Don Sahong Dam may effect the Mekong river for a documentary to air on the this fall, according to . The crew has outfitted kayaks with depth-finders and GPS systems to map water velocity, depth, and gradient, in the hopes of ascertaining migration patterns for different fish species. The dam's site is hypothesized to be used most by migratory fish due to its relatively mild whitewater. As fish are a major local food source, the dam's disruption of migration could have far-reaching effects.
