Universal Pictures on Thursday released the official trailer for Everest, an upcoming film based on the ill-fated 1996 climbing expeditions in which eight climbers died.
Directed by Baltasar Kormákur, Everest follows expeditions led by guides Rob Hall and Scott Fischer as the Western climbers under their watch struggle to survive a snowstorm high on the mountain. The film was shot in Nepal and the Italian Alps and features a big-name cast, including Josh Brolin (who plays Texas climber Beck Weathers), Jason Clarke (who plays Rob Hall), and Jake Gyllenhaal (who plays Scott Fischer).
Everest opens in theaters and IMAX on September 18, 2015.
