During a , Jon Krakauer cautioned 11-year-old climber Tyler Armstrong, who said he was interested in summiting Everest.

“I wish I’d never gone,” he told HuffPost Live. “I suffered for years of PTSD, and still suffer from what happened.”

He summited Everest in 1996 while on a reporting trip for ϳԹ. The expedition killed eight climbers. “If I could go back and relive my life,” he said, “I would never have climbed Everest.”
