A focusing screen on the case adjusts through the iPhone’s permanent lens and the attached SLR lens. The iPhone then snaps an image of this focusing screen (though images must be rotated, as they appear upside-down because of refraction). The mount is not the at bridging the gap between smartphone cameras and digital SLRs. Whether it’s worth a purchase is debatable. that SLR camera quality comes from aperture and lighting adjustment settings as well as the lens, which the iPhone just doesn’t have—yet. An SLR mount for the iPhone 3 costs $190.
