Jackson Hole ski patroller Mark “Big Wally” Wolling is still in critical condition in an Idaho Falls hospital after an avalanche buried him yesterday morning, reports the Jackson Hole Daily. Many Jackson residents' thoughts go out to the longtime ski patroller and his family. Wolling was doing routine avalanche-safety work in Cheyenne Bowl when he was swept off a cliff and buried under six feet of snow. Rescuers dug him out in ten minutes, and he was airlifted to Idaho.
Be safe out there, people, especially in the Tetons.
