British Columbia’s Red Mountain ski resort , nearly doubling its size. The additional terrain includes a new peak, Grey Mountain, and will increase the number of runs by 22. “Grey, like Granite (RED’s other peak), is volcano-shaped, which allows for 360-degree skiing around the peak from a single lift, a topographical feature few resorts in the world are likely to have,” said Red Mountain CEO and President Howard Katkov. Red plans to add a high-speed quad lift to the mountain in time for next season; this year, they will shuttle skiers to the top. The expansion puts Red in the top three percent of North American resorts for total skiable acres.
