Sportswear company Nike Inc. renewed its support for Lance Armstrong on Friday after the seven-time Tour de France champion was stripped of his titles and banned for life for doping. “Lance has stated his innocence and has been unwavering on this position. Nike plans to continue to support Lance and the Lance Armstrong Foundation, a foundation that Lance created to serve cancer survivors,” Nike said in a statement. The world’s largest sportwear company, Nike has helped Lance Armstrong’s foundation Livestrong to raise over $100 million since 2004. They were also the creators of the foundation’s popular “Livestrong” wristbands. Trek Bicycle Corp., an Armstrong sponsor since 1999 and maker of Livestrong-branded bikes, has said it will continue to monitor the situation.
