Argentine authorities are investigating the deaths of two French tourists found murdered in a popular hiking area in the arid northwestern province of Salta. Hikers spotted the bodies of Cassandre Bouvier and Houria Moumni on Friday near San Lorenzo Hill, a lookout to the west of the provincial capital. with a .22-caliber revolver, and one showed signs of sexual assault. Bouvier and Moumni, both 30, were were studying Latin America at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris. The pair were last seen at their hotel on July 16. Police have taken one suspect, a local horse renter, into custody.
