Google Earth Will Map Barrier Reef

Beginning this fall, Google will deploy underwater cameras mounted on submarines to photograph and map the Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. The project, called the , will produce results similar to the “Street View” option on Google Earth, but underwater. Project chief scientist Ove Hoegh-Guldberg , where most reef divers rarely go.
