Elite alpinist Steve House reportedly fell 80 feet while climbing in the Canadian Rockies March 25, and was evacuated with life-threatening injuries, according to a , the company that provided medical transport. He was flown to a hospital in Oregon on April 1, and released on April 4.
Steve just sent me this quick statement: “I am recovering comfortably at home and am already able to move around on my own power.”
Steve also had this to say: “The mountain rescue wardens of Banff National Park are the heroes who executed a risky long-line rescue to pull me (and later my uninjured partner) off the north face of Mount Temple. If it hadn't been for them, I very likely would have died from my injuries before getting down.”
