Every year, men in the UK waste £2000, or about $3100 in gas driving around lost, .
According to a study released by women-only British insurance company, , the average male driver in the UK drives an extra 276 miles per year . If you suppose these men are averaging 40 mph, that's almost an extra seven hours per year of driving around aimlessly.
Unleaded gas in the UK currently averages about $6.86 per gallon (116.5 pence per liter), making an aversion to asking for directions more costly there than in the United States.
According to the study, drivers under 25 years old are more likely to get lost and take longer to ask for directions. .
