Cadel Evans became the to win the on Sunday as Mark Cavendish won the race’s final stage in Paris and became the first British rider to win the race’s green jersey, awarded to the top sprinter. Evans, who secured victory with a dominant, come-from-behind win in Saturday’s time trial, finished 1 minute, 34 seconds ahead of Andy Schleck, who recorded his third second-place finish. Schleck’s brother Frank rounded out the podium in third place. The final stage, a flat route from Cr矇teil to Paris, was largely ceremonial for Evans, but it was the setting for and his 20th career Tour de France stage title. Schleck, however, could still pick up a Tour de France win: The Court of Arbitration of Sport is scheduled to hear Alberto Contador’s in August. Should Contador be stripped of his 2010 title, Schleck would move up from second place.
