Recession Lowers C02 Emissions

Carbon dioxide emissions in the U.S. should be down by 5.9 percent in 2009, reports. The reason: lowered demand for electricity and transportation fuel because of the recession. The Energy Information Administration of the Department of Energy says that emissions should increase 1.1 percent next year, though, along with an improving economy.
