Ireland Bans Genetically Modified Crops

The cultivation of genetically modified crops in Ireland was voted to be banned by the Irish government on Saturday, according to the . The new policy specifies that the Government will “Declare the Republic of Ireland a GM-Free Zone, free from the cultivation of all GM plants”

The Irish government also plans to release a new voluntary GM-Free logo for all relevant food products made without the use of GM crops.
