His travels and passion for far-flung locales and peoples in crisis have taken him to Sri Lanka, Thailand, The Philippines, Burma, Indo-China, Rwanda, Burundi, Zaire, Somalia, India and Afghanistan. He has also lived in London, Paris, and Australia, where he currently hangs his hat.

He is the winner of numerous international photography prizes including the World Press Photo and Pictures of the Year International. His work has been exhibited in London, Paris, New York, Sydney, Tokyo and at Perpignan’s Visa Pour L’Image Festival. He works on assignment for The New Yorker, Newsweek, GQ, French and German GEO, Le Figaro, Liberation, The Sunday Times Magazine, The New York Times Magazine, Stern, Time, The Financial Review Magazine, Vanity Fair, and ϳԹ.

Dupont has two published books of photography, STEAM – India’s Last Steam Trains and FIGHT. Currently, he has Books on East Timor and Afghanistan in production.

“Saving the Last Savage” is Dupont’s first assignment for ϳԹ where he tagged along with author Michael Behar through the jungles of West Papua, New Indonesia.
