Millions of young people took to the streets today as part of a global strike to protest worldwide government inaction on the ongoing climate crisis. Companies and major athletes in the outdoor industry showed their support for the climate strike in person and online. Here are some highlights.

Patagonia closed its stores worldwide. 


Climber Tommy Caldwell joined the strike.


Burton closed its global offices.


Specialized shut down its site.


Mountaineer Conrad Anker demonstrated glacial melt.


The North Face called for customers to join local marches.


Photographer Aaron Huey helped create a film.


Caroline Gleich marched.


And Greta Thunberg, the 16-year-old climate activist from Sweden who is credited with inspiring today’s Youth Climate Strike, led the charge.
