Citybank Hong Kong withdrew the promotion last week after receiving a barrage of . Shark's fin soup is considered a delicacy and, because of its high price, a status symbol, in many parts of Asia. But rising awareness of how many sharks are being killed (100 million per year, according to ) and how they're being killed (stripped of their fins and dumped back into the water to die) has altered public sentiment over the past few years.
