Dutch alpinist Martijn Seuren was climbing the 13,126-foot Aiguille de Rochefort, in the Alps, on the boarder of France and Italy, when he fell to his death late Wednesday afternoon. He was climbing with Swiss mountaineer Ueli Steck, one of the fastest in the world.

Steck , writing to express his condolences to Seuren's family and friends and adding that he “won't add further comment to this tragic event.”
