Colorado boulderers Angie Payne and Ian Dory won the in Burlington, Vermont, this weekend, claiming the final bouldering titles of the summer 2011 season. Dory bested a field of 20 men by flashing two of the three final problems; Payne was the only climber on the women’s side to complete all three problems, each on her first try. Rain forced the cancellation of a planned semi-final round, however, forcing tour officials to hold an expanded final in its place. The North Face Open is the third and final event in this year’s United Bouldering Championships Pro Tour. Tour organizers canceled a fourth competition, planned for the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, due to a budget shortfall.
