Sender Films and Mountain Hardwear just posted a short video on . Steck, who's famous for his speed climbs in the Alps, hadn't originally planned to go to the summit. After leaving advanced base camp, however, he encountered such perfect conditions that he decided to keep on climbing.
The video's short on actual frontline climbing footage–the batteries in Steck's camera gave out partway up the mountain–but spends a lot of time documenting the vibe in ABC as Steck's teammates waited for him. In the telephoto shots of him on the face, the climber looks awfully small.
