Ethan Pringle and Alex Johnson took first place at the Nor'easter, the final Unified Bouldering Championships event of the season, competing for a crowded audience in Lincoln, New Hampshire.
The men's division turned unexpectedly competitive after front-runner Daniel Woods failed to top the first problem, dropping the lead. Out of the six finalists, only Pringle and Brian Kim managed to top out all three problems, with Pringle winning by a single attemptThe win is a big comeback for Pringle, who hadn't participated in a competition since tearing a ligament in his shoulder during one in 2008.
In the women's division, Alex Johnson took first, adding another win to an already-strong season by flashing each problem. Johnson was the only woman to complete all three of the climbs.
