RMI Guide and First Ascent Climber Dave Hahn summited Everest for the 13th time this weekend, adding another climb to his own record of the most summits by a non-Sherpa.
Hahn posted an account of the summit on the , saying that good snow conditions and weather made for a relatively easy summit. He and his team of Sherpas reached the top of the world around 6:55 a.m.
“After months of life in deep valleys or on steep mountain faces, it was a welcome novelty to experience gigantic and open 360 degree views,” Hahn said.
Hahn's first trip to Everest was in 1991; his first summit came in '94. Hahn's climbing and guiding experience also extends far beyond Everest. He's racked up 20 summits of Denali in Alaska, 27 summits of Mt. Vinson in Antarctica, and 250 summits of Mt. Rainier in Washington, according to his First Ascent .
In the winter months, Hahn is a ski patroller at Taos, New Mexico.
