The California state legislature is currently reviewing a bill that would open trails, paths, and bike lanes to e-bikes, . Bike lanes and paths are generally reserved exclusively for nonmotorized use, but the has lawmakers around the country contemplating how to regulate them.
The bill, , would replace part of California’s existing vehicle law that currently does not allow any motorized bike use on nonmotorized paths. It is currently awaiting a reading and vote by the Appropriations Committee.
