Montana’s Glacier National Park welcomed its 100 millionth guest on Thursday, .

Park superintendent Jeff Mow declared Becky Janssen of Bakersfield, California, the official 100 millionth visitor. It was her first visit to the park.

Janssen was in line at the West Glacier entrance when Mow approached her car. She told the Missoulian that she initially thought she was in trouble, but Mow brought her and her two children to the Apgar Visitor Center for a celebration. The Janssens were given annual passes to the entire national parks system and gifts from the park concessionaires.

Janssen may not have technically been the 100 millionth visitor, as park rangers don’t monitor the entrances at all times. They do, however, count the number of cars that enter the park, using a formula to track the average number of people in each vehicle, according to the Missoulian. Park officials knew that the lucky visitor would enter the gates before the end of June, and Mow chose Thursday to make a pick. Mow told the Missoulian that he deliberately looked for a family with children to highlight the future generation of park visitors.
