Fun fact: Jeremy Bloom is the only person to ski in the Winter Olympics and be drafted into the NFL. As a skier, he was a three-time world champion, two-time Olympian, and 11-time World Cup gold medalist. In the NFL, Bloom spent a season as a receiver and a kick returner for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Since retiring from professional sports, Bloom has that’s sort of like Make-A-Wish for seniors and co-founded a marketing software company that was named the best new company at the American Business Awards. Currently, he’s part of the television show ϳԹ Capitalists, which premiered October 10 on CNBC. During the show, adventure sports startups pitch their ideas to a panel of investors, which includes Bloom.
We recently asked Bloom how he manages to juggle so much. His answer? A lot of sleep. “The three pillars of health are diet, fitness, and sleep,” Bloom says. “I love sleep and would even go as far as saying that I have become passionate about the challenge of maximizing it as much as possible.”
Here are some of Bloom’s tools that ensure a full night’s rest.
Cooling Mattress Pad

This is my number-one . It’s expensive, but it will be your best and most important investment for your sleep. I’m a hot sleeper, so I set my ChiliPad at 55 degrees. This mattress pad pumps water through it and allows you to temperature-control your sleep.
Air Purifier

Another key driver of sleep success is a good white-noise machine. Small noises at night can quickly take us out of REM, even if we don’t wake up. This omits a soothing sound and helps make sure the air you breathe is clean.
Eye Mask

A no-brainer of sleep success is to completely eliminate light from your bedroom. I’m not a fan of eye masks. I have tried so many different kinds and always feel like they are restrictive to my sleep. , however, is fantastic. It’s light, soft, and breathable.
Sheets

I’m on the road staying at hotels two-thirds of the year. Even in the nicest hotel rooms, I’ve never felt sheets as soft and comfortable as modal jersey knit sheets. Plus, they’re inexpensive.
Duvet Cover

This is the softest I have ever slept under.
Water Bottle

I’ve tried hundreds of water bottles, and this stainless-steel version from is by far my favorite. It’s durable and encourages me to drink water.
Slippers

I live in Colorado, where the winters are fantastically cold. I love waking up and putting my feet in these . They feel like a cozy bear den.
