ABOUT
From the Company
ϳԹ editors excerpted this information from the Employer Questionnaire submitted to the Best Companies Group.Founded in 1962, Carmichael Lynch has earned worldwide recognition for creating devotion to brands through inventive ideas in advertising and in digital and public relations. The agency boasts a passionate staff that consistently delivers powerful ideas for an envied portfolio of clients including Harley-Davidson, Subaru of America, Jack Link’s Beef Jerky, Seventh Generation, Trane, and Calphalon. One of its key strengths is the ability to build brands across multiple consumer touch points with big, emotionally driven, category-changing ideas. The agency’s collaborative approach has helped turn Harley-Davidson into one of the world’s top five brands, Jack Link’s into a fixture in popular culture, and Subaru into the fastest growing car brand in America.
COMPANY CULTURE
Carmichael Lynch’s culture is driven by creativity, inventiveness, collaboration, and passion. The agency’s talent congregates in downtown Minneapolis to do their career-best work for an enviable list of clients. Being so creatively productive and pushing the limits of strategic research and insights can be demanding and draining. That, plus the deadline-driven nature of the business, means employees need to blow off steam, have fun, and refuel often. Rooftop parties, the occasional Friday-afternoon beer cart, the infamous O’Gong Show (every St. Patrick’s Day, those new to the agency must perform a skit, song, or act—one act wins acclaim as O’Gong Show champion and joins other O’Gong Show legends), and the rotating art display keep things vibrant and inspiring.
OFFICE FACILITIES
Carmichael Lynch’s office is an old converted warehouse in downtown Minneapolis with large, energy-efficient windows and low walls to flood the space with natural light. The agency has a full locker room and towel service used by those who work out during the day. The locker room is also used by those who bike to work. Bike storage in the agency, near an employee’s desk, is encouraged.
FLEXIBLE HOURS
We have a long tradition of a “Summer Time Off” program where employees work longer days during the summer months, which allows for seven Summer Time Off (STO) days. Essentially employees receive seven additional days off during the summer, on top of their regular vacation days every year. It’s cold here in the winter; employees need to take full advantage of the warm months!
GREEN INITIATIVES
Carmichael Lynch holds EPA Green Power Partner status, and we use wind power to fuel our space.
