A method of brewing coffee by passing near boiling water through grounds held in a paper filter. The process is said to extract more flavor than most other methods because the coffee’s oils and essences are retained, which is the reason pour-overs have gained such traction with the hipster set. But pour-over brewing is also arguably the fastest and tidiest way to make a cup of coffee in the field. All that’s required is a drip funnel, a number four filter, and a heat source.
